Customer Service Representative

Overview:

Genesis Technologies is seeking a talented and dynamic individual to fill our Customer Service Representative position, located in our Northbrook, IL office.

The Customer Service Representative will be responsible for providing superior customer service and driving customer satisfaction, loyalty, and retention through order management, first call resolution, and support to customers, field service technicians, and internal staff. This position requires excellent customer interaction and communication skills, which will continue to portray our professional company image and provide world-class customer service.

In this role you will:

  • Assist customers with their orders transmitted via phone, fax, email, or EDI (electronic data exchange) and ensure orders are processed timely and accurately
  • Accurately open service calls to technicians for repairs, preventive maintenance, and unit down situations
  • Troubleshoot basic help desk needs on service calls and work order processing for more involved service issues
  • Provide timely and courteous response to all customer inquiries
  • Identify, research, and resolve customer issues
  • Educate and inform customers of promotions and other cross selling of products to create new business opportunities with our existing customers
  • Research customers IT product requests and generate quotes to match products to customer inquiries
  • Process RMA return requests from customers
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

To be successful in this role, the key qualifications are:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Events Coordinator

Overview:

Genesis Technologies is seeking a talented and dynamic individual to fill our Events Coordinator position, located in our Northbrook, IL office.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Events Coordinator is responsible for planning and organizing events and/or meetings for the organization. He or she will also be responsible for all operational, implementation and post-event activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Pre-event, onsite and post-event communication with delegates
  • Follow-through and willingness to conducr pre-and pst-event evaluations, reporting on outcomes
  • Relationship building with key stakeholders
  • Air and ground travel arrangments
  • Establish schedules, task assignments, equipment allocation to ensure conformance with department objectives and goals
  • Represent and deliver service excellence that is in keeping with the organizations brand
  • Determine fiscal requirements and prepare budgetary recommendations
  • Negotiate agreements with outside providers and subcontractors/vendor partners to ensure lowest cost and highest quality of service
  • Work closely with internal and external event planning committees (including CEO and Executive Leadership Team) and client groups to define event goals, objectives and specific implementation plans that promote the organizations brand.
  • Establish communication protocols and operating procedures with planning committees, subcontractors/vendor partners and program staff
  • Source venues, recommend and engage catering, acquire supporting technolog and coorgindate development of materials to execute a quality event
  • Maintain a calendar of events and implement a system that enables and anticipates long-term planning and effective event mangement for the organizations meetings
  • Research skills to identify event opportunities, understand the market and generate interest
  • Proactive approach to handling issues and troubleshooting any emerging problems on the event day
  • Enthusiasm regarding collaborative work with marketing, sales and human resources departments to promote and publicize events
  • End-to-end management and hosting of client sporting events (total of approximately 20 Bulls, 20 Blackhawks, 20 Cubs and 4 Bears games per year)
  • End-to-end management and hosting of client concerts and miscellaneous events each year
  • End-to-end management of annual client golf outing
  • Work closely with Sales and Solutions Team to build and manage several lunch-and-learn, equipment/solutions demo events and sales meetings and training events each year
  • Work closely with Director of Human Relations to help manage recruiting events both at college and Genesis office locations, internal employee events, i.e. holiday parties, employee appreciation events, etc.

To be successful in this role, the key qualifications are:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Event Management or related field
  • A minimum of 2 year’s Event Marketing experience
  • Ability to see the “big picture” and meet objectives in all stages of event planning, design and production
  • Superb time management and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Software and reporting tools experience
  • Exceptional communication skills to liaise with clients, identify their needs and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Sales skills and an aptitude for building productive business relationships
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects independently
  • Able to articulately propose ideas to improve services and event quality
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills
  • Focused and not easily distracted
  • Detailed oriented
  • Confident and self-motivated

Genesis Technology National Sustainability Highlights

In 2018, from our recycling of cardboard, paper, toner and printers’ efforts we helped save 76 trees* (up 51% from a year ago), 728 gallons of oil* (up 17% from a year ago), 3.29 million hours of electricity* (up 67% from a year ago) and 23 thousand gallons of water* (up 18% from a year ago).

In the delivery of our solutions to customers, Genesis:

  • Recycled of 21.6 thousand pounds of corrugated cardboard1 coming from the boxes of office equipment and supplies.
  • Recycled 7.2 thousand pounds of shredded paper2 -safeguarding both confidential information and the environment.
  • Recycled 38.2 thousand pounds of toner cartridges3 keeping harmful materials from going into landfills and promoting the use of HP Original Toner-designed with the planet in mind for easy recycling and less waste.
  • Recycled 44.3 thousand pounds of printers/copiers4 helping customers stay compliant and the environment safe.
